Drove 40 minutes to try this restaurant and i wasn't disappointed. Had the Chicka Chika Pram Pram. (Chicken parmesan sandwich) The sandwich was tasty My wife had the Ruben which she enjoyed. Its an order and find a table type place which is fine for me. Its located in the Grove and has a eclectic alternative vibe .Great beer selection .
This place was recommended to me by a handful of friends, and it did NOT disappoint! I had the Frenchy and Homemade Mac n Cheese - both were VERY delicious! A half sandwich was enough to fill up little ole me, so proceed with caution. You do order from the bar, so don't make the same mistake I did and wait for someone to come to the table Otherwise, super clean, super friendly staff, and super speedy getting orders out of the kitchen! Highly recommend you give it a try!
Such a great vibe and great sandwiches. Do not skip the Mac & cheese, it’s the best! Half (4 inch) and full size (8 inch) sandwiches available. We recommend the Italian yardbird and Enzo Gorlomi, but all of the sandwiches are spectacular. 10/10 for easy grab & go lunch or late night snack.
On a whim, I Google searched, sandwich shops in st Louis and this was the second search result. The pictures sent me here. We were not disappointed. We brought a 4 top on a Sunday afternoon on Labor day weekend. We each got different meals. •My 10 year old got the 1/2 meatball sub. It had two large meatballs that seemed to be hand made with marinara and lots of cheese. Tasted great. Her only problem was, she ate her entire bowl of mashed potatoes first and the sauce had made the bread a little soggy and she couldn't eat the whole sandwich. But still ate the meatballs. •My 17 year old got the 1/2 Danimal. Which seems to be their take on a Dagwood. Big ole stack of all the meats and toppings. It was an impressively thick sandwich of turkey, ham, roast beef, salami, and bacon with toppings on a whole grain toast I believe, loaded with flavor and definitely filling. She was not able to finish. •My girlfriend got the 1/2 Italian Yardbird. It's like a mushroom chicken Alfredo on a baguette. She said the Alfredo flavor wasn't overwhelming but overall the sandwich was delicious. Lots of cheese and mushrooms and the chicken was cooked just right. •I decided to get the Mississippi Nights Club. Partly because I'm nastolgic for the old Mississippi nights on the landing, but also because I'm a sucker for a good club sandwich! And this one was delicious! I got the full sized. It comes with turkey, roast beef, and bacon, lettuce and tomato, chips and cheese and a spicy red pepper sauce. I actually decided to swap the sauce for their avocado spread although I am interested to know how this spicy red pepper sauce tastes. •Sides •Mac and cheese My teenager got this and I tried a bite. It was large bowl, very cheesy and used real cheeses. They also load all their sides with bacon bits and broken up potato chips. She ate some Mac and cheese first thing and then went to the sandwich, then went back to more Mac and cheese and said it was definitely better when it was still hot. But all the stuff is that way I suppose. •Loaded Mashed potatoes Two of us ordered this. From what I could tell, completely from scratch home-made style mashed potatoes. Absolutely delicious. Cheese, real bacon all over it, big scoop of sour cream on the side. Still lumpy with chunks of potato in it because it's made from scratch •Jalapeno popper soup It had excellent flavour, but as a stand alone soup, it was just a creamy liquid. Not much going on with it. But, the guy ringing up my order, advised me to dip my sandwich in it, and HOLY COW!! Game changer. Get the jalapeno popper soup and dip your sandwich in it. Trust me here. It isn't overwhelmingly spicy. Just flavorful.
I am glad we finally came here! Tiktok & Google reviews did not disappoint. The mac n cheese, giant cookie, Mississippi Nights & Buffalo Soldier were so good! Halves are so filling! Our friends had the mashed potatoes and those were so delicious.
We we're looking for something good in the area that was affordable, and this place blew our minds. The sandwiches we're Delicious, the Mac and Cheese was perfect and their Jalapeño Popper Soup was to die for. Plus their wide selection of drinks helped us have a perfect night!
After years away the sandwiches of The Gramophone have only gotten better. With prices that let you mix and match plus late night hours this is a must stop late night option. The food is richer and more Panini driven than I remember, the atmosphere is loud but you have multiple seating style options and a great back patio. The service is helpful and quick and they designed it to require little interaction aside from needing to make it clear that you seat yourself and order at the bar. All in all really good.
